Mario and the Switch run over the competition.
Nintendo’s resurgence continues. Last month Mark Kart 8 Deluxe was the number one selling video game on all platforms. The special edition of the original Wii U game sold more than 460,000 physical copies and a further 90,000 digital units on one platform: the Nintendo Switch.
This is a good sign for the Switch. Despite the Switch being high in demand but low on stock, the new hybrid console is selling well enough that the number one game across all platforms just happens to be a Switch exclusive.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a port of the Wii U original. The game has additional features such as new characters and more options for Battle Mode. There are also improvements in the graphics department, and in the rendering resolution.
We’ll see if the Switch can continue to gain ground and take Nintendo back to the top.
