Retro City Rampage DX Comes to Android

The 8-bit open world indie lands on yet another platform.

Vblank Entertainment has released the highly-acclaimed game that is a mix of parody of retro games, ’80s & ’90s pop culture, and the Grand Theft Auto franchise on Android. Now the game is available on everything from the PSP, to the NES.     Retro City Rampage is one of those games that reminds us how beautiful 8-bit gaming was. The amazing artwork created pixel by pixel, mixed with the simplicity of how gaming used to be. Vblank has seemingly made it a mission to release their retro-style game on as many platforms as possible. An iOS version landed earlier this year, and now Android users can get the game from Google Play.   “Rampage” is the perfect blend of open world chaos, fun/crazy story, and pure nostalgia. Players begin the game as.. well, “The Player”.. and can explore the game world at will. There are multiple modes besides story mode, including mini games, an arcade mode, and the big one: free roam mode. It’s rare to find a game on Android that just lets you run around like a lunatic and mow down random civilians with an 8-bit car. But Retro City Rampage DX lets you do that and more.   The game is definitely worth a play for any old school gamers out there, or anyone looking to play an insanely fun game on the go. A 16-bit sequel titled Shakedown Hawaii is in development for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo 3DS.
